Last Wednesday I sealed and primed to top plate. I also painted the edges with weld through primer.

Today the cowl went on

Looks like a good job sealing stuff back up.

So just to update this thread. I ended up getting a project 65 Fastback for Christmas. The cobra Ii went back in the barn. It will wait for a while now. I did the hard repair now its time for a break.
I am not giving up and will NEVER sell it. But it probably won’t be worked on for a long time.
Anyway I will update the thread when progress takes place again.
