Good gawd, hopefully not just like you tonsils, seems like that would be a longer route.You'll be fine Mike. Even if it does wind up being cancer, it's got such a ridiculously high survival rate, they treat it like taking out tonsils or an appendix, only they have a robotic procedure that leaves everthing functional when they are done. I'm a cancer survivor. I didn't have prostate, but I beat it. So, nothing to worry about man. Trust me.

That chip doesn't require you to reseal the panel Mike. Smooth it out, primer it, block it flat and finish with a finer grit like 800. Then spray the color over it. Easy peasy. No sealer needed over the finer grit sandpaper.We'll call this "Mike's Midnight Update."
Got home from the dr. appt, and spent an hour sealing up the rest of the big openings in anticipation of primer on thursday.
Obviously, I still gotta deal with the engine bay. I'm conflicted on what to do here though,...The plan for the hood paint will be two tone, with satin black making up the majority, and orange following the body line that cuts a "V" on the hood. That body line flows right off the hood, and onto the cowl.
That's this body line to be precise.
The conflict comes in trying to decide what to do with that black paint already sprayed on the cowl. You can see a chip that;ll have to be feathered or filled, and it will have to have to be primed and sealed (Which will add thickness to the parting line between the black, and orange. It'd be great if I could wet sand the paint after the fact to level out that difference, but I cant. The satin paint cant be touched. What to do about that is a dilemma.
Just for shts and grins,...I'll add a shot of the orange tree I have growing in the corner of my garage.
And all this "fruit" w/o the benefit of sunlight.
Will you be going into the jambs with the orange?
If I were in your shoes on this one, I would paint the entire hood and cowl orange first.
Add the satin black afterwards, black will use far less material and leave way less material for a paint line.
If you feel more comfortable having the sealer underneath for color match, just over reduce it by about 5-10%. I can't tell you how much for sure, I'd need to see the viscosity of the sealer first to see what I would do.See that's what I'm trying to tell you, You will be in my shoes on this one. Vicariously.
Yes, the jambs will be orange.
The orange first is the painters' perspective that I needed. I just thought that I was gonna have to spray whatever sealer I'm using on the rest of the car on the cowl to to keep the color consistent. The portion of the cowl is so small that will actually see orange,..it seems crazy. But I agree, black will cover way faster than the orange will.
