Hmmm,...how much can I get said before the wife gets here, and I have to put the phone down......

* didn't make that,....she walked in.

So,...several hours later....let me sum this up in 5 words.

What a fcked up day.

The monster is back in full dick head mode. He squarely stabbed me in the eye several times today. Let's start with eye stab #1..

The oil leak is still there. Frustrated, I decided to attempt removing the cover plate to fix the leak once and for all. That process in of itself is a giant pain in the ass.

I managed to get the plate off and out of the engine compartment, despite a higher than normal cuss word take rate. Once removed, it becomes apparent at trying to scrape all of the " right stuff" that was applied as a gasket will be a monumental task, give the limited space I have to work with.

Before that, I spent several hours sanding and painting the trim in trim black. Unfortunately I neglected to prime those pieces first, and the black paint is eggshell fragile,...it scratches and fractures just trying to put the trim on.....so guess what I didn't do?

I also applied the gold pinstripe tape last night to the remaining 3 wheels last night......by this afternoon, that tape had came back off ......wasted hour #5

Even before that,....i started the car, to see if it was gonna leak oil,...it surges like holy hell now that it's colder,....i wish it would just tune it's damn self.

The cover is now off,...to get that plate off required that I loosen the accessory drive, even ifvi do manage to get that surface scraped, I gotta figure out a better gasket solution,...and getting it back on is gonna just be a nightmare. I'm almost at the point of just pulling the entire side of the engine off, and resealing everything......

Not a good day.

Would gasket material and the right stuff be an option?

Sucks to hear. I didnt get my car out of the garage to post pics because I was pulling up old hardwood and laying sub-flooring for my new floors. So if it helps at all, my back is sore as hell and my car didnt get a single thing done to it. Wasnt my best Sunday either.

Mike post the current msq file and datalog msl files during cold startup. I will manually adjust them for you. Lots of small things out of place can create one big idle surge and "transients" help to agitate the problem.

I didn't datalog the most recent start-up, but I did the time before that. Reagrdless,...it's gonna be a couple of days before the Monster gets to feeling him self anyway,...I'm gonna take the intake off just to be sure that I re-gasket that thing just in case i have some vacuum leak at one of the ports. Hell,...for all I know the surge could be some leak coming from my home made manifold,...one of the six ports,...or one of the welded injector bungs. so,...it's coming off. That'll make determining as to whether the oil leak was/is starting in some obscure back corner of the HG,...or some part of that plate that the intake manifold hid a little easier. It's alot of work,...but in the grand scheme, just another few days in the life of the monster.

Who knows,....it may be just like everything everybody else does,....it'll start into motion the "since I's"............
Since I've removed the intake manifold,...I may as well remove the valve cover to look at the valvetrain, and adjust it.
Since I've drained the antifreeze,...I may as well get the Cometic HG from Australia so I can boost the hell outta this thing.
Since I have the Head off, I may as well pull the engine and change out the rods because I plan to put 20psi on them.
Since I have all this junk off, I may as well send it out for powdercoating.
Since I have the engine compartment bare again,..I guess I'll go ahead and finish the black out of the cowl.
Since It's almost winter,...I may as well do this junk now.

Or conversely,..I could just fix the oil leak, and put it all back together.

Well, not taking either political side here, but we are already $19.5 Trillion in debt. I think we have been long on our way to crashing and burning. Don't know if Trump has what it takes or not, but I guess only time will tell. I hope and pray that he does, because he is now the President.

Joe hit the nail on the head. More debt accrued in the last 8 years than all other presidents COMBINED. Our asses belong to the Chinese.. Mike, your crashing money airplane happened the night Michelle Obama proclaimed being proud of her country for the first time in her life..

..but I digress.

Black history in these United States has a large number of gifted and talented people that this country owes a great debt of gratitude for their contributions and service. I want to thank them for their sacrifice and service.

However, what is true is that Barak and Michelle Obama aren't on that list...

Let's try and keep this a civil conversation so that my build thread won't get locked.

But, since it is after all my build thread, let me start my reply to you four by using one of these:

and....

One of these:

*Sigh*
It always kills me how "forgetful" some people are.

Try to remember back 16 years.

In 2000, another one of your "love to hate" democrats handed the incoming republican administration a budget surplus:
http://www.factcheck.org/2008/02/the-budget-and-deficit-under-clinton/

The next 8 years got us attacked by 19 terrorists, and got us involved into two of the most costly wars we've ever engaged in, to the tune of 7 billion dollars PER MONTH. That, plus a basic blind eye to the mortgage banking industry pushed this country into a staggering state of affairs that could only be described as a depression.

Even before his inaugurations first speech, Obama had to figure out how to save the banking industry, the housing industry, the automotive industry w/ two simultaneous mega costly wars dragging on,
http://www.businessinsider.com/the-iraq-war-by-numbers-2014-6

and on top of that "h by the way......here's a little gift for you POTUS,...a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit.
Given All of that............
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-obama-claims-deficit-has-decreased-two-thir/

What the hell did you think was gonna happen to the deficit? Should we have just gone ahead and jumped off a cliff?

Wait till all of those tax cuts the "new guy" gives to his rich buddies kick in......see where your current deficit goes.....

That's alright mike, I understand.

When one's butt gets wacked really hard just the night before, one is allowed to be grumpy the next day.

Now, come on, let's get together and make the monster great again!
