1985 Mustang Gt Idling Problem

First Thread on here whats up everyone. Recently aquired a 1985 Mustang GT 5.0 5speed and so far it has been a great car. A few days ago I was driving normal and I came up to a stop light and the car died and would not fire for about 5 or 10 minutes. I have done a little research and figured out that the TFI is the most probable source of the problem, but upon inspecting the car for the TFI, it does not exist on the car. The car has an MSD ignition box and a MSD distributor and coils from what I can tell. This has happened 3 times now for me, thankfully only once on main streets and id really like to find the source of the problem. If anyone could help me out, that would be much appreciated.

Msd parts are prone to fail. Any chance you can bypass the box to rule that out?

Not sure how to do that, and don't really want to spend a lot of money putting in an OEM ignition system.
