1986 Ford Production Line of Cars

This was ford inviting Japan to come in and wipe their ass with a much better idea.

Escort?
Taurus?
Crown Vic?....

Hello Japan,..why don't you come in and kick our lazy asses..

This was the last decade Ford sold cars....Every thing after that is a pathway to the eventual decision to sell one car,............and pick up trucks, and suv's.

At the very least, we still have an automotive industry in the U.S. We could have lost everything like the U.K.

It floors me that Ford has bailed on making a car, and has chosen the path towards obscurity.

BMW Acknowledges that electricity is the pathway to hitting the performance, pollution and efficiency standards that will inevitably be assessed against all manufacturers as they all scramble towards 2025.

This coming from a company that claims that their car is the " Ultimate driving machine"

For ford to invest in a line of pick ups and SUVs as they march towards that inevitable marker holding them to the same standard the rest of the world has to adhere to... is a plan to fail....

In the mean time...lets keep building gasoline powered rectangular shaped 6000 lb vehicles........

You make it sound like Ford only sells vehicles in the United States. They still sell more trucks than anything else. To bail on that, future requirements notwithstanding, would also be a plan to fail.
