Help!

I must be an idiot because I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere on the web. I am trying to restore a 1986 Mustang LX 3.8 convertible from the wheels up. Need to start with the factory steel wheels and tires. What size wheels and tires and by whom should they be made?

Here is what I think:

Wheels 14x5 4 slot with a 4-4.25 bolt pattern

P205/70R14 White walls from Firestone.

Is this close?

Really trying to make this car as if it just rolled of the line. This is critical to the start.

Thanks in advance for the help

Factory wheels? According to brochure, here's what was available

195/75/14 was standard with 205/75/14 optional.

Standard wheel was a steel wheel with turbine hub caps

Optional were the "styled road wheel" which also came on the 87+ 4-bangers.

A wire wheel hub cap was also an option. Wheel F

10-holes were V8 only

If you want to know how your actual car came equipped, you'll have to do a marti report

Thank you so so much! I really appreciate the well sourced response. I will get a "Mart" Report. Never heard of them but looked them up. Thanks for that also!

May I ask where you got the brochure or where I might get a copy of it?
