Then please stop with the "The Pats have nothing to work with". teams would die to have some of the guys the Pats have playing this year.

And I keep reading about how would the Steelers do without their QB, RB, Troy, Two best line backers yada yada yada. Well to answer your question, The Steelers have had all kinds of injuries this year and are rolling with only three losses. Oh yeah, they happen to have the hardest schedule in the league. Their December is statisticly the hardest ever in the history of the league.
Troy missed time this year, Ben has been hurt for most of the year, Willie has missed most of the year, Moore is our 4TH string back cause the others are hurt, Arron Smith has been banged up, Bret Kiesel missed time, Townsend has been busted up, Clark missed time and is still playing saftey with a shoulder sling. . . . . you get the point?

Ok I know I am a little late to comment on this but I was away from the thread for a little while and I HAVE to comment on this post..

First no injury in the nfl this decade compares to the tom brady injury, it is possibly the highest impact injury of all time in any pro sport so please don't compare the steelers losses this year to possibly the greatest QB of all time going down for the season in week 1..

To make it simple the patriots offense can not work at a championship level with out brady and unlike past patriot teams this is a offensive team with a subpar defense so they are SCREWED without brady as far as the season goals of winning the SB is concerned..

I have watched this team for years and I knew the season was over as far as winning the SB is concerned as soon as I heard that brady was placed on the IR.. No other injury would have had me feel that way..

The offensive output drop off is recordsetting comparing the 2007 patriots to the 2008 patriots that shows the impact of brady.. Moss, welker and the rest of the offense are not going to be able to dominate games without a GREAT QB running the show.

This team is designed around a passing game, with TB they pass on 3rd and 1 and run 5 wides with no RB for entire series, this is not a normal offense where anybody can be plugged in at qb, this team without brady is a average offense with some decent weapons and a subpar defense..

with brady it's a record setting explosive offense with a defense that does not see the field often enough to be exposed and even when they are on the field the other team is down big already.

again loosing good but not great players at positions other than QB is totally 100 percent different both psychologically and in real physical impact on the game than loosing one of the greatest players in the history of the game at the most important position in the game at the peak of his career

You get the point? it's different, the brady injury is a death blow not a series of setbacks like the steelers have suffered.

the patriots WON SUPERBOWLS in years that they have had setbacks like the steelers have had this year.. they started guys like randall gay in place of ty law in the SB and won...

Yup. It looks like the loss of Osi Umenyiora was big too.
(Coupled with Strahan's retirement.)

They had plenty of chances. That drive started on Pittsburgh's own 8 yrd line. Even Ray Lewis saw it that way

That is all well and good, but it still does not take away from that fact it was absolutely BS and bogus to overturn the call on the field. There was ZERO evidence to prove it was a TD.

Shoulda been another play plain and simple. It didnt necessarily cost the Ravens the game, but it sure as hell could have.

Other teams have lost key players like the QB and have made it to the superbowl. I understand Brady is amazing, but for them to disregard he would ever be hurt and to pick up a quality backup (which i don't think Cassel is that bad) is just dumb. You always have to prepair for injuries and i think the loss of Brady should NOT have been as catastrophic as it is/was.

I understand some teams can't pick up quality replacements, but for key positions and for the teams who can (pats being one of them) they should have quality replacements in key positions incase starters are lost for the season.

I agree w/ SVT while other teams have lost players in that position its that the whole team is built around Brady as much as the colts are with Manning. Id like to see how the colts do w/out him. Im sure it will be the same struggles the patriots have had this season a long w/ key defensive players being out.

i just have 1 question for all you

would you let the myth the man the legend brett favre bang ur gf? i know i would and id get it on tape.

just sayin

what I want to know if if you would openly admit that you let Brett favre bang you up the ass if given the opportunity. Its not if you would we all know you would, Its just would you let anyone know about it?

Actually the line judge who made the call shouldn't have called it at all. He couldn't even see the play. The upstairs booth called the replay right away cause they saw something that was not jiving with the call on the field. Again, they had plenty of chances to stop them. Even ray Lewis said that.

Second off yes it was the right call. If it was Mason who made the catch I would say the same thing.

ok so what you are saying is that New England was not prepared with a decent back up.
Well thats tough. I'm not saying Brady's injury isn't a big deal or anything cause obviously it is. But what I was saying was how everyone was saying that the Pats are unbeliveable for "Working with what they have". What they have is pretty much the same team that went 16-0 last year. and as you can see they are not really that deep in some areas that got hit hard this year.

Also that proves that that team is now proven to be one dimentional. IF there was a good running game that would open the passing game cause Cassel is not a bad QB.

A team is 52 players, not 22 starters. They don't get that.

Thats what i see. However. I do understand that the loss of Brady is huge. But ANY team that looses it's franchise QB hurts. When Ben was out in 05 for a while the Steelers struggled to a bit but they now have a dman good backup QB in Leftwich. . .who was available this off season.

My neighbor is the backup QB for the chiefs and he played with Leftwich on the Jags and he said Leftwich is a self centered douche. I can see that too, remember when Ben was out a game and Leftwich had a good game and he said after the game "I am just glad I got the opportunity to show what I can do" nothing mentioned about being sorry Ben went down. Quinn (my neighbor) said in Jax they were up like 30 points and the coach said they were gonna let Garrard play a quarter and Quinn play a quarter and Leftwich said "No way, I am playing". I don't like him, he is a good backup, but I think Batch is better.
