lots happened in the NFL I can see. I think pac man should have had to play a year incident free. He didn't even make it 1/2 a season w/ out something happening. He should have been suspended for the remainder of the season.

Wonder why the Redskins were interested in Alexander?

man alexander was like one of the best looking running backs ive ever watched just 3 years ago much like jamaal lewis but ever since alexander fractured his foot he has went down hill fast. id love to see him get going again i like his attitude alot.

What I saw it was because their backup, Betts, was injured. I guess they just want a solid backup they can lean on. Makes sense tho.

One little point that keeps pissing me off about that catch that you guys say there was holding (which there was not, you can keep telling yourself there was to make yourself feel better). but wasn't that play 3rd down? There was still another down where the giants could have gotten a first down. So just because he made a catch like that and got the first, didn't mean they still couldn't have one down later.

Ok I want to make one thing clear, the giants played great in the playoffs last year and the giants defense played the game of their lives in the SB and they deserved the win and may have won the game without that play

BUT

that catch was a lot more than first down yardage... and there was two players holding on that play.. I rather not watch the video again but I think it was green that was being pulled from behind when he had manning in his grasp.. The reason they were not able to sack him was that a 300+ pound lineman had his arm wrapped around a pats defensive lineman (green) kind of hard to push somebody down when a guy even bigger than you is pulling on you from behind.. the giants lineman ( I think number 66 if I remember correctly) he had one arm pulling on greens right arm and that was when manning got free to make the pass.. All of this was done from BEHIND and that is holding.

How do you think manning got out of that and was able to roll out and throw that pass..

Sometimes the calls or non call in this case goes your way.. in this case it went the giants way.. But the patriots still had chances to stop them and did not do it so they lost and thats the end of it.. On the other hand the TD pass that was a game winner was the perfect call for that situation, the pats gambled on a blitz and the giants made them pay for it on that play..

But that "great" play that is shown as the highlight of that game and probably of manning's career was a desperation toss lucky ass catch that was aided by some non calls.

I understand why giants fans or patiot haters want to ignore the holding because we all know without that big play it very unlikely the giants would have had enough time to score a td.. BUT you never know if it was called back maybe the very next play might have been a long TD pass and the giants might have won anyways.

In three SB winning playoff runs the pats have had calls go their way too.. the refs are only human and mistakes are made, plus who wants to be the ref to call back what turned out to be one of the greatest passes of all time..

Every NFL game has missed calls and questionable calls.. this play happened to have missed calls and it happened to turn out to be a HUGE play..

It's really hard to see it in the angle the NFL films chose to highlight that play ( wow I am shocked) but in the angle the play was shown on tv it's obvious.

OK on to this season

I think it's time to try O'connell out, what do you guys think..

if green bay makes it too the playoffs this year ill be the happiest man alive lols but aaron rodgers just kills me with the way he delivers the ball everytime he goes back to throw in traffic i think hes gonna get the ball ripped out of his hands.

Yes I think they should give him a shot.

As far as what you posted it often comes down to "Let the players play" Sometimes that play is bending/breaking the rules. No matter what the correct call or non call should have been there is nothing that can be done about it now, they cant go back and redo it all over again...well maybe next season

Ok I am getting a little sick of comments like this..

Sorry 04dark, I just happened to grab yours a few others have said the same..

Only one team in the history of the NFl went perfect including the SB that was the dolphins.. many other great teams came and went since and have lost at least one game..

ALL teams no matter how good can have a bad game, sadly for pats fans the 07 patriots picked the SB to have a horrible game, for what ever reason they lost to a team they should have beat. ( sorry giants fans but you know it true)

No team ever in the history of the NFL dominated a season as much as the 07 pats did... So yeah they lost the SB last year BUT nobody in here has a team that even came close to the level of play the 07 pats played in the regular season and I don't mean just last year I mean EVER!!!

Look at the MNF game tonight the browns smoked the giants.. these two teams face 20 times the giants win 18 but for one game on one day the browns played better and beat them. that does not mean the giants are bad because they lost to the browns, it just means they played bad today... It's one game much like SB42 was one game...

Ok so let me ask you this question, would you rather go 16-0 and blow everyone out but lose the Super Bowl or go 10-6 and win the super bowl? Yeah I thought so...

The fact remains for teams like the Patriots, Colts, Cowboys, Chargers, and now Giants anything less than a Super Bowl win is not a successful season. Sure it was a nice season and Pats fans got to boast about the supposed best team ever but they didnt get it done when it mattered the most. I just relished the aftermath because Patriot fans were so freakin cocky and arrogant it was poetic justice.

I have nothing against Brady or really any of the Patriot players and totally respect their organization. I think most of the distain for the Pats comes from the attitudes of their fans not the team itself.

Btw your Sox are getting their asses handed to them.

I'd like to see what Matt Gutierrez can do, after all they've been giving him the black jersey at the end of the weeks to wear lately since they resigned him, along with during the preseason. I thought he was better than Cassel in the preseason and he was here last year, so he's got a little more knowledge of the system than O'Connell. However, with that being said I would like to see O'Connell as the full-time starter in the event they get mathematically eliminated from playoff contention (if we don't get it turned around) for the rest of the year.

Don't worry, we relish in the fact that the Colts consistently underachieve in the playoffs with the exception of that one aberration in '06.

I cant deny that isnt true. :rlaugh: But last time I checked the last SB win between the two teams was the Colts, the Colts have won 3 of the last 4 meetings, and the Colts gave away the game last year with Reggie Wayne dropping an easy TD pass in the 4th that would have iced it.

Btw how can you be a Cardinal fan and a Patriot fan but live in the south? How did you about picking those teams?

Well, I have gone to Cardinals games my entire life, so that one came normal. The Patriots on the other hand started with my hatred of "America's Team", being stuck down here in the South with all the Cows nuts. I wanted to find my own team to keep track of and try to watch, so it ended up turning into the Pats.

The crazier thing is that i'm a Yankees fan AND a Red Sox fan (not as much as a Cardinals fan). I get questioned about it all the time when I wear a Yanks hat and people say, "But aren't you a Sox/Pats fan?".. well, of course I am. I guess i'm a Yanks fan first, because i've been cheering for them more the past few years when they play head-to-head. I didn't care for the Yankees bringing Clemens back, I hated that arrogant bastard. Plus, i'm a big A-Rod fan. :flag:

Of course I rather win the SB but the fact remains nobody here has a team that has done what this team has done this decade..

Hey you can ask bluffing024 I was nervous before the SB.. I told him that when we were playing cod4 before the game... I was not too happy with how the pats looked late in the season and in the AFC championship game I kind of thought they were stumbling and lost some of the sizzle in that offense and I did not agree with the offensive play calling in many of the games late in the season but I was hoping the story that broke about the alleged tape of the rams walk through would have woke them up..

It did not as we saw and the giants defense played great

/season life goes on..

As far as the red sox are concerned they have been in this hole and worse before so we will see what they will do in game 5.. If not hey they won in 04 and 07 and this team is a budding dynasty with 3 great starters under 30, 3 more on the way that look good and good young players... Ortiz is getting old and a possible beckett elbow problem are a concern but they will be fine..

Maybe we don't have a champion in any of our teams this year.. So what life goes on I went from 1986 until 2002 without seeing one of my teams win a title and I lived.. I remember us being so title starved around here that ray bourque brought a avalanche stanley cup to boston and had a rally with it.. thats how bad things were pre 2002... These are good times right now.

Well good times in sports.. as long as this economy does not turn into the great depression part 2 the sequel I will be happy

:eek:WTF? You can't be a red sox fan and a yankees fan.. thats impossible.. it's not allowed...

That's the response I get everytime. I can't help it, not sure what my deal is. I guess I just like baseball as a whole.

However, if it makes you feel better I turned down going to Yankee/Shea Stadium to go see the Pats play. :nice:............. Altho i'm slightly regretting it bc of the Brady injury :nonono:

Ok I lost all respect for you as a sports fans when your teams are the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cardinals. That is the definition of the Ultimate band wagon fan :) If you are a true fan you cant root for more than one team let alone three and two of whom are bitter rivals. You are in Alabama, that would be liking Bama and Auburn.

For example I am a Colts fan and not of any other team. I like to see the Saints and Bears win because their QBs are from Purdue and I want them to do well, but no other reason.

You cant be a fan of the Yankess and Sox. Thats like being a Colts and Pats fan or Texas and Oklahoma or Ohio State and Michigan. It just is impossible.

Oh btw when did you start following the Pats? If you say 2001 or later you are not a real fan.

I was in High School when I watched the Patriots lose to Green Bay in the superbowl, I liked them before then but I cant pin point the day/month I can say I was a patriots fan.

I like Ohio State and Michigan. I have no rhyme or reason for liking Ohio State except for the fact that I just do, I cant even name off the QB or RB but I still like them to do well. I like Michigan b/c Brady played for them.

Everyone likes teams for their own reasons, You cant denounce someone as a fan of any team just b/c they dont fit a certain criteria , that's just ignorant. No one has to explain or have it makse sense for why they like any team of any sport.
