So looking into this more. Will the 87-89 140 mph tach work on a 1993?Just for clarities sake, the 2.3l tachometer won't work with your 5.0L. You will need to source a 5.0L tachometer. You can also call local speedometer repair shops and see what they would charge to fix it.

A common problem I read into is the solder cracking and just needed resolved.I wonder if these are repairable. The last time I dissected a guage cluster, I did note that these seem to be made out of pretty common electical components. Probably a few cents each from Mouser.
