I currently own a 1994 mustang with the stock 6 and 5 speed transmision. I want to swap in a newer 6, 1999 or newer for the added power. I would like to know what mods are necessary such as sensor or eec components, transmission compatability.

I would like to know how pratical a 5.0 swap would be also.

Any help or advice would be great.

for the 6 swap you need the following:

motor (assuming all parts included such as intakes fuel rail...)
computer retune

pretty simple for the 5.0 be a little more involved

I am also interested in this swap. I heard the trans is the same and the body is practically the same so besides the computer tune, what else is needed assuming you have the whole engine? You dont need a different radiator right, I heard that is needed for the 5.0 swap.

Why not just save a bit of money and buy a late 80's FI fox body 5.0?

I would be more interested in a v8 swap but if the six is easier than why not for 40 hp? As well as getting a newer low mileage engine
