1998 Mustang electrical question

I recently just bought a 1998 GT convertible. I notice a couple of electrical problems. The first thing I noticed is that the interior dome light has a short in it, when I open the driver side door. Is this a common problem? The second problem I noticed is that none of the power window/door switches are illuminated, when the lights are on. It’s impossible to see the buttons for locking the door and open the windows at night. Should these light up (possible bad fuse)? Also, none of my cruise control switches on the steering wheel light up either. Any feedback will be appreciated, thanks!

None of those are supposed to illuminate. Sorry no problems on my 98 with the dome light.
