My buddy has a 93 LX vert with an N/A 2.3 liter and stock auto trans.... He's wanting to do an N/A buildup on it because he's an AutoX freak, and for whatever reason, doesn't want to put a more powerful motor in there....and he refuses to do a 5.0 swap...mostly for weight reasons.
But AAAANYWAYS, what kind of parts are available and what's a rough idea of the most power he can get out of it while being practical. 160, 170 at the fly?
For his current mods, he has hacked together exhaust....2 1/4 inch with a factory cat, a glasspack, and ginormous tip....it sounds like rice and has ZERO low-end torque. He also has a foam conical filter and 3 inch tubing behind the MAF.
Any good advice for me to pass on? It's making me cry to see him trying to race this thing....he came from a 300+ hp 65 Mustang...and now he's in this. Sometimes I just don't know about this guy...
Thanks guys.
