2.3 Parts that are compatible on 5.0?

Is the rack and pinion the same on both cars? Appearance wise they look exactly the same.

Also my donor car is an 88 with out A/C and my 93 2.3 has A/c. What needs to be done/can it be done? to make it all hookup.

Last thing is the radiator. The donor cars radiator is a little messed up and externally they both look exactly the same. Are they the same?

the rack will work, but the v8 had a "sport" option that had a quicker turning ratio.

leave the AC off, or get everything from a V8 car.

don't use the 4cyl radiator, get a new 2-core or find a 6cyl in a JY with a good radiator (6cyls were the same as v8s)

The V8 rack is 2.5 turns lock to lock

the 2.3L rack is 3 turns lock to lock.

I didn't know this a long time ago and swapped a 2.3L rack in my 5.0. It looks like i'm gonna saw my legs off when i try to parallel park.

It's getting converted to manual steering anyway

Depending on the year, some 2.3L w/ A/C did come with the standard 5.0L Radiator. It's a 2-core radiator as opposed to the non A/C 1-core rad used by the 4-banger.

You can get a heavy duty 3-core radiator from autozone for about $150.

I have the 2 core radiator, so fine to go there.
