I have a 2000 Mustang, I am in the process of trying to diagnose, my obd scanner will not communicate with the car, I do have power to the OBD Port, and the scanner does work. Can anyone tell me why the port will not read scanner? In desperate need of help. Thanks in advance.

is the THEFT light flashing?
Last time I ran into a problem with not being able to communicate was due to a PATS issue

Thanks for the reply, yes it is, this has been a nightmare, theft light flashing, car will turn over but not start, now can't get code scanner to read the OBD so I can see what's going on. So crazy. Was driving car down the road then it cut off and all this mess began. Can't figure any of this out, can program keys, or anything without that obd port working.

Try this first cause it costs nothing but time:

If it works, see if your scanner will link then. Report back please

Just seen your other post in the general talk.
Seems like you’ve tried to reset - and there’s dashes for the odometer.
That means the PCM is not firing up. I assume the v6 still has a CCRM module, you need to google and find the wiring diagram/colors, and test voltage at fuel pump, and a few prongs at the PCM

When my CCRM went out I had similar problems. I’ll find my thread regarding that

Thanks, I was wondering if the CCRM is bad, or the body control module, I have read where both of these could be the issue, the reset didn't work you sent, but thanks for trying to help me. I'll check on the CCRM. Thanks.

2000 Mustang GT CCRM/Fuel Pump issue

I have a 2000 Mustang GT that I'm unable to get running, and unfortunately I'm not very mechanically inclined. It had sat virtually unused for about a year until I decided to sell the car. The fuel had turned, so I had a local mechanic drain the fuel and replace the pump and filter. He thought...

Pcm not communicating

So I bought another mustang as a project... it's a 1999 v6 5-speed ford mustang. The car will crank but won't start. Also the fuel pump doesn't kick on. Theft light is flashing, and the pcm is not wanting to communicate to a snap on tablet. I first began to replace the fuel pump and filter, and...

Electrical - CCRM / Inertia switch / something else?

Hello everyone, I currently have a 2000 GT 4.8L that I just supercharged. Car has been idling and running fine before the supercharger, and including now (as of right now I'm datalogging, no full pulls, staying out of boost). Today, my tuner came to make some adjustments and I started the car...

You just saved my bacon on my gen 1 coyote swapped 82 with this BS!!!! There was no theft light to reference and car was in a crank no start state, could not connect to the ECM, but would fire on starting fluid. Turned out to be a PATS issue that was resolved by the key on for 10 minutes thing! Thanks!!!

This is exactly what happened to me. I still would like to figure out what happened as I was told PATS was deleted on this ECM.

Not saying this is the cause of your issues, but just putting it into this thread for reference

OBD2 port is fused and is on the same fuse as the power ports. So check the fuse for the 12v ports.
