Anyone looked at using 05'-07' front brakes as an upgrade? Apparently they have a 12" front rotor and the rears are 11.8". Given the huge numbers sold over the last few years these are going to turn up in yards in large numbers soon.

Seems like another "MustangSteve" bracket design might be in order.

I am not sure of the hub size but if they are anything like the last generation Mustang's the rotors will not fit on classic hubs. I have a set of 2001 GT brakes in the garage and the rotor hat is too small to fit on a 66 hub.

that's funny, the mustang steve cobra brake kit uses SN95 rotors and calipers with a stock drum brake hub. are you trying to use a disc or drum hub? not sure if there is a difference but maybe there is and that's why the rotor doesn't fit

I did not say SN95....those fit....I know for a fact. I am talking 99-04.

SN95 and 99-04 are the same IIRC

mustangsteve's brackets use 99-04 cobra brakes

The SN-95 Mustangs ran from 1994-2004. This included the V6/GT models and the Cobra/'01 Bullitt/'03/'04 Mach 1 models.

The inside of the 13" Cobra rotor's hat is 6½" in diameter. This will fit over an early Mustang drum or disc brake hub, which is typically 6" in diameter.

The '99+ V6/GT caliper adaptation to a Granada spindle adapts the later Mustang caliper while retaining the use of the existing 11" Granada rotor. --Granda spindle, Granda 11" rotor, newer Mustang caliper. (Granada rotors don't have a separate hub that's pressed into the rotor. It's all cast as one-piece).

Nasa,

I shared some CAD data with a couple of members on here that included S197 ('05 on up) front brake components. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=652186
The rotors are thicker than earlier years at 30mm and are offset a couple of mm's futher inboard (less caliper bracket cantilever).

With the correct adapter brackets, these could be used on Granada spindles with SN95 calipers. The mounting hole locations on S197 are a little further apart and might not fit the Granada spindle.

Ultrastang is working on his G2C (Granada to Cobra) kit to adapt SN95 Cobra rotors and calipers to the Granada spindle. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=653378 But, this would require a 17" wheel.

With the proper adapter mentioined above, the same hub as Ultra will be using, S197 rotor and '99-04 SN95 GT caliper, you could use a 16" wheel.

I personally have been running the '99-04 SN95 GT caliper on Granada spindles with Granada rotors since February of '02 without issue.
