2005 Mustang 4x4

I recently had installed 275/40/17 MT Drag Radials and 245/45/17 Fronts.
They are a smaller diameter tire, and now the wheel gap is truck like.

First issue was with the diablosport; It has no ability to input tire height/diameter as stated in the instruction manual. I've adjusted the speedometer using modify tune/axle ratio/tire revs per mile. Thank god for the online calculators.

I'm getting some conflicting information from my local shops regarding how to lose the gap. Steeda.ca is telling me anything other than 1inch drop will change pinion angles and such and will hurt the car's drag strip aspirations.

Other shops are telling me 1.75 front and 1.5 rear drop is doable.

Do I need camber plates?
What's a reasonable height to drop to get rid of gap?

I went from a stock 27.18in tall tire to a 25.66in tall tire on all 4 corners.

Suggestions?

You've decreased the radius of your tires by .76", so you'll need to drop it that much to get back to stock fender gap (at the top, at least - the gap in front of and behind the tires will still be smaller than it was with the stock tires).

If you use lower control arm bracket relocators and adjustable upper control arms (and an adjustable panhard rod), you should be able to drop it a couple inches without affecting its drag strip aspirations. You'll probably need camber plates in front if you don't want the insides of your front tires to wear out faster than the rest of them.

predator

I think the predator is capable of changing the tire size. It is under the Axle Ratio Menu and it is called Tire Revs per Mile. Most tire manufactures list the RPM (revolutions per mile) of the tires.

Will have to get the other suspension pieces and get the thing looking mean and launching hard

help me understand what you know...I dont have a tuner so I need to know how many mph the spedo is off say at 25 (school zone), 30, 45, 55, 65 and 70 (other legal speeds) so i can adjust in my head, ill be putting the stock ones back on this winter and all will be bact to normal.
I have 25.7 inch 275 40 firehawks

I know it is too late now, but ALWAYS call TireRack.com and have them give you the options to plus size your tires and keep the circumference within 5%.

That is the best way to start. They will take ALL the time you need. Width, Series, Backspacing... ETC. Do it all BEFORE you buy.

yea I did all that but the only way to get good race tires and keep 'em that close to orig size was to go to 18s and I didnt wanna do that. so my only option was to get what I got. and for that I am grateful!!! LOL

I went with 245s up front just to ensure I didnt have any tire rub. I had to order my tires unseen.. didnt have any 275s that I could test fit up front.
