2006 Gt sucking gas!!!!

Does anybody know what is going on here?? 2006 Mustang Gt 13500 miles it doesnt matter what I do 65 mph or 80 mph im still getting only 14 miles to gallon on the highway its really starting to get annoying I expected to at least get 18 and I read how many people have more mods than mine and get 20 to 30 mpg. Anybody have any ideas no engine codes at all....runs good......every so often after I do get on it I smell a faint rich smell but it is faint only after really gettin on the gas. HELP!!!!!

The only mods I see that may hurt you would be heavier wheels and tires and the cai and tune and thats only if something isn't right with your cai and tune package. Was it that bad before the mods? Also you could drop Doug a line and pick his brain. If you go to a taller tire or wheel and don't correct the speedo with a programer you won't get the correct mpg when you go to figure it out. My GT gets 22 mpg around home and 25 on a trip and it wasn't good and broken in yet. Also going to change all my fluids over to synthetics.. On my 04 4.0 ranger 4x4, I was getting 18/22, after switching to synthetics in the drivetrain and adding a cat back, cai and bama program, it went up to 22/25. The mods helped in stead of hurt and should be the same in your case.
