Gonna be buying a mustang in the next 6 months and the 05-09 body style just growingon me and now the 2010 is out and not sure if i like it really. I can prob get a good deal on an 2009 but that doesnt matter really i hear that the 2010's are nicer inside ect. So anyone in the same boat as me and have pros/cons? Thanks

I'm guessing you'd be buying a GT... You could get great deals on the 2009 without question. The interior of the 2010 is nicer, but I'm not sure if it offsets some of the awkwardness of the exterior. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the bumpers on the 2010.

Between a 09 and a '10? The 2010 without a doubt. It's just a better car. I'm sure the looks will grow on you. Just wait a bit before you make your decision.

I've been trying to like the new style of the 2010. I just can't force myself to like it. To the OP if the styling is the selling point then I'd say go with the '09. The build quality is a bit better on the '10, so really it is up to you as far as what is more important. Performance wise they will be almost the same.

I keep hearing ppl say the new 10 has upgraded materials but I loked at one the other day and most of the materials are the same they just shaped em different or give it a new look. I'll get waxed for saying that but oh well. :)

I'm not a fan of the rear, but if I was looking at a new Mustang, I'd STRONGLY consider the 2010 or I'd just wait for the supposed upgrade.

I would say depends on what you want .. if your just getting a updated Daily driver , 09 .. If you are getting a car you really want to turn into your own with mods and stuff like that go with the 2010....Altho the 2010 hasn't been out long enough to know if it has "issues" ...

Go for the 07-08 GT500

I know this is not what you asked; I would look for used 07 or 08 GT500 with low miles or even new. You can find a super deal on them. You can mod them and get some big gains. I love my 07 GT but there are some killer deals on the GT500s. If it is absolutely between the 09 and 10, get the 09. The 09 looks much better than the 10. I really do not know why they had to go away from the 05-09 look so fast.

Exterior = '09
Interior = '10
I also can't get over the exterior look of the '10 yet to make me want to ditch my '06! They're are several strong points, but the back totally lost it for me!
IMO, mine is set up perfect on the outside:nice:
I would agree on trying to find a good deal on a used GT500! Sure they need some minor tweaks from stock, but it has great potential without even going inside the motor at all! A buddy just swapped the pulley, CAI and tune on his and went from a stock 435 HP to 526 HP at the wheels:eek:
I guess I'll wait to see what the '14 will look like. It doesn't matter to me what is in it power train wise as that is not hard to upgrade, but an ugly fast car is still ugly!

it goes to show just how good the s197 is/was. It's a terrible hard decision!! I'm so happy w/ my 07 and i know i'm perfectly positioned to wait a few years and see what grows on me. And if EPA makes them all v6's i can slap my own glassback and supercharger in and drive it to my grave:D

to answer the question i think i'd get a cheap 09 gt Don't get me wrong I like the new ones but i think bang for the buck you can't go wrong w/ a 09 that will be a reliable and FUN FUN FUN car.

I agree with those who just can't get over the looks of the 2010. That bottom plastic is such an eyesore, almost laughable.

The new Saleen however is a different story.. If you haven't seen it yet, it's amazing.

For now, I say go with the 09 and enjoy the great price that you'll get on it!!
