Ive seen 1 or 2 99-04 GT's pull it off, and it did look good. But all the rest looked like trash, and real out of place to me.

Honestly 20's fit 2005+ Mustangs alot better in my opinion.

They just look TOO big on our cars, and dont flow well with them.

There are some bad ass 05+ Stangs with really nice 20" setups, and im not even a fan of big wheels by any means.

The most id put on my car are 18's, and they would be Saleen's...

Its not about what type of 20's, is about the 20's themselves. You know, smaller wheels can have lots of bling too. Case in point...

A guy I work with has an early 90's Camaro (V6 of course) and he's running with 22's. Hideous of course. Then again his friends all have 22+ wheels on their cars and they love the bling. One guy has a 2004 Impala with a 10K+ stereo system. He asked me about making his car faster and I told him s/c it but that his best bang for the buck would be to go back to stock wheels and lose the stereo weight and he looked at me like I was nuts.

On our cars I wouldn't go larger than 18's but personally the 17's are just fine for me.

WELL... it almost sounds like your more concerned with the wheel gap more than what size wheels you get.. SO with that said, how about you get some good lookin 18's and LOWER the car... Bigger rims wont really help you with that wheel gap.. and trust me, you dont want 20's on your car..

Now for your little hotrod comment with chip foose or boyd cottington why dont you tell me what kind of cars they put 20's on.. did them put them on a 99-04 mustang?! Iam pretty sure they didnt.. boyd does (Or did) old school muscle cars and made the WHOLE car flow with whatever rims/wheel he put on. And Chip Foose is all about the 05+ cars which some of look really really good with 20's if done right.. otherwise, your out a whole lot of money and your car will look really really funny..
Just my .02 and nothing more....

Actually I have bullit rims on my stang. And when someone asks about putting 20s on ANYTHING the first thing that comes to just about everyones mind is some chromed out rims. And you my friend probably havent been around stangs long if you think 20s look good on any stang prior to 05 and if you had been around stangs long you probably wouldnt have come to this site and asked this question and you would also know that putting 20s on a stang is not the best way to fill the wells.

20s are too big for anything but the 05s+ the cars are just not big enough to support that big of a rim. If you want to fill your wheel wells then 18s will look great.

Also Foose and Boyd (RIP) make customs not 99-04 Mustangs, thats a big difference and even some their cars have too big of rims IMO.
