i have always heard a smaller diameter tire will lower the gear a little. I know it help when my buddy put a smaller tire on his 4.3 blazer.

Hey,you all know that they measure slicks in inch's

And get the 60's,lower crusing rpm.Also the roll out is better on the 60's,sure the 50's might get yup into the rpms faster,but what good does it do ya if it only goes 70 feet out in first?
