24# injectors and MAF Confictions about what people say.

I am upgrading my 95 5.0 to GT-40 heads with cobra intake and 24# injectors. I was told by a guy at a reputable speed shop that I do NOT need to get a new MAF for the change and that I just need to get a new chip burned for the CPU. Can anyone verify the truth about this?

I am getting ready to do the H/C/I in the next month or so and a MAF was one of the last parts I needed. If I don't need the MAF and just a chip, That should be easier and I can keep the stock 5.0 MAF.

I guess I didn't complete third grade.

I have been told different things by different people, thus CONFLICTIONS. If the 94-95 Cobra uses the same MAF, different computer and I am going to be adding 94-95 cobra parts (24# inj, GT40 heads, cobra intake) to my 95 mustang, do I need a different MAF or can I use the same OEM 95 Mustang MAF with a burned chip or should I get a $250 maf that I may not have needed. Any one else not understand what I am asking? I just want some opinions from people who are more knowledgeable in this area than me.

Thanks friends!

Chris

Yes you can get a new MAF calibrated to the 24# inj or keep your stock meter and have a custom chip burned to calibrate it.

My personally my opinion is the chip will be more expensive, so get a nice 80mm Pro-M for a 24# inj and call it a day. www.pro-flow.com the 80mm were on sale ;)

well if what your saying is that the 94-95 gt and cobra use the same maf, why not just get the cobra computer? i heard either the 94-95 gt computer or the cobra computer sucked . if it was the gt computer that sucked, do the swap if it was the cobra computer, disregard this post :D
