Hey yall,

Wonderin if 255/40r17's will fit on my stock rims. Right now I'm runing 245/45's, and I don't know what the stock rim size is. 17x9? I'm hopin to get 4 of these for the winter.

Unless someone can point me to some decent low priced winters in 245/45

I just got new tires and went with 275/40s all the way around. No problems, no rubbing, etc. I have the stock bullits and they look good. 255 will fit easy but I'd go with 275.

Your rim is 17x8, 255's will fit fine though the tire manufacturers recommend 9" wide rim as minimum for the 40 series 255. I wouldn't put 275's on a 8" rim, the tire bulges a little isn't really optimum for handling. but that is just my opinion, I think they recommend certain rim widths for a reason.

255's will fit the rim with fine, the only issue is that your overall wheel height will increase some. Not a huge isssue as long as you are running all 4 the same size, and correct the speedo b/c is will be off a tad.

Thanks guys...

Any suggestions to sites with decent winters? I'm gonna talk to the guy with the 255's, but I think he only had 2.

Cheers -

255/40's will decrease overall wheel height
