I run that exact same tire size on mine front and back all on Kumo Supra 712's. I upgraded from 16" rims and the only diffrence I noticed was that the fron end wanted to "Pull" more when hitting groves or uneven spots in the pavment. That is caused by the bigger contact patch of the 17's and b/c the kumos grap and pull on uneven survaces. My tred wear is fine, Ive had them on for just about a yr now and cant even tell that there warn at all.

You'll have no problems whatsoever. I run 245/45/17 Nitto 555's up front and 275/40/17 Nitto 555R's (Drag Radials) out back. Been this way for a few years and never had any problems, even in the rain.

I run Nitto 555 Extremes all the way around 275/40/17 in the front and 285/40/17 in the rear. Normal wear no rubbing problems and great traction.
I also run 315/35/17's Nitto 555R's at the track .
