285/40/17 vs. 315/35/17 on a 17x10.5 rim

just wanted to get some feedback here...i'm leaning towards getting 285/40/17's on a 17x10.5 rim. Is this a bad idea?

And if you have pics of either combo (preferably good pictures where you can see the whole rear of the car), that would be appreciated...thanks!

i've seen 275/40's on a 10.5 and they dont look right.. go ahead and do the 315. It'll be beastly

yeah...i've seen pics before though where the 315's look too wide. I don't want that to happen either.

WHat are u talking about? I have a boy that is running 315's and all I can say to that is :worship: :worship: They look perfect. I'm currently running 285's in the rear and love them but would love them more if they were 315's. GET THE 315's, why else would you get 10.5 inch rim. Just my opinion.
