3.08 gears with a manual trans

I would get a few carriers for the Corvette
Nice
I would sure put 4.11 in one of them and go with that for at least a year
Might be able to pull the front wheels
I have 4.56 in the 9 inch in My 69 and can pull the front wheels
Fun stuff
3 carriers 3.08, 3.50 and 4.11

I remember years ago driving a GT40 headed combo with a T5 and 3.08 gears and thought it was the nicest geared combo ever. Lots of low end torque and enough gear you didn't feel like you were always shifting.

Some days I hate my 3.73's. Too much torque to really lay into it in 1st gear, and when just driving, i sometimes feel like going through an intersection I need to get through 1st too fast and shift to 2nd before I'm through.

Ultimately depends on what you are doing with the car, but for a cruise build, my gears of choice would be 3.08, 3.27/3.31 or maybe 3.55's. If you plan on racing often, then obviously go 3.55/3/73/4.10

That’s how I felt with my old 3.73’s. I would be shifting into second before I got to the opposite crosswalk in an intersection. Ripping it from first gear was instant tire shredding, but I did just have normal sporty-ish tires, not drag radials or anything.

I like the gears I have in my current Fox… need to figure out if they are 3.31’s or 3.55’s (is 3.31 even an option? PO said 3.31’s…).

3.31 are the common gear in S197 and newer cars - kind of like how the 2.73/3.08s were with the foxbody.

SN and New Edge are typically 3.27 stock (most of the ones I've seen at least).

I am going to put new seals in my 3.08 diff and run it... I will keep an eye out for another diff with 3.33, 3.45, or 354 gears.. The Corvette Dana 44 has gone the way of 94/95 mustang front spindles.. Scarce and expensive.... Lots of Dana 36's which are not as robust..
Here is the bat wing after hydro blasting... I will paint it with some clear, install new bushings and install it on my frame....
Finished the right rear knuckle too and intstalled ( have not tightened the nuts and bolts yet) on my Corvette Correction frame... When I can get something off the floor or off the shelf and on the car its a good day..
The " bat wing" is what the diff bolts to and it is mounted to the frame.. It also serves as the rear cover for Dana diffs in C4 corvettes..

Ford discontinued the 3.27 in favor of the 3.31 after the s197 came out.

You can still buy 3.27s from aftermarket vendors but if you want ford racing gears you’ll need to get 3.31s
