3.73s....4.10s....

Ive been thinking a lot about this too, I drive on the highway everyday. If 4.10's feels like a 50 HP gain, what does 3.73 feel like??? Are 3.73's that bad?? (note: i don't race, it's a daily driver but still faster is better). According to the calculater I would be around 2500 RPM at 70mph in 5th with the 410s... not too bad but it could get annoying.

what do you guys recomend for me... im a new college student wth a 45 min drive to and from work 2-3 days a week... i usualy like to cruise around 75-85... and who dosnt go 115 every now and again :D.... only on track mind you ;) ... isnt running your engine at 3000+ rpm's all the time bad for it... i mean who dosnt get way above that toolin around but just sittin at 3300 rpm's on a drive for 45 min. kind of scares me, and how much mpg would i get at that rate on average?

edit: i do plan on getting a supercharger within the next 8-12 months... and im also curious as to how hard gears are on the trans, and if anyone knows how much horse our trans will safely suport (think daily driver)

Okay, well I am in the same situation looking to get some new gears most likely 4.10's but can anyone tell me how this is going to affect my WINTER driving, in terms of traction will I be screwed, cause this is my daily driver all year long. Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

alright im up in the air on what gears to get...3.73s or 4.10s? im about to go to the shop and order parts tomorrow so i kinda need to decide tonight...im a college driver who is gonna do a good amount of highway driving during the weekends maybe and also drive around campus during the week for school...i was originally gonna get 4.10s but i dont think they will be good on gas or my engine. i figured 3.73s would be a lot better...what kinda rpms do 4.10s hit on the highway? help a foooo out!

when i put in 4.10 i never looked back.. totally happy. i would have been wondering how much better 4.10 would be had i gotten 3.73's.
