3:73's vs 4:10's.......documented

4.10's feel better during acceleration, and get my heavy horse goin' ..documented.
I dont know about your question. I can only advise that in the car I had, near stock 93, that I lost time with 73's than when I had 55's. That was in the 1/8th. Im really not helping your post am I ? lol

:rlaugh: ......I'm just looking for some #'s......I'm going to 4:10's.....I need em....just trying to get a idea of what I will shave off................

i didn't like my 4.10s when i had them. i'm actually going the other way with mine. i have 3.73s now and i am going back to 3.27s

i'm all about cruising 70 mph at 2000 rpm. i'll downshift if i want to get my rpms into my power band

Dude, 4.10's is where its at. Only the coooool people have 'em, c'mon dont you want to try them.....Really though, I have an aode with the 10's. Great acceleration, I wouldnt go down to 73's ever. Depending on how far you drive, I wouldnt throw out 4.30's.
But, I digress, I think the 10's are a perfect fit for a stock or near stock and modified auto.

+1...if i had a track-only car i'd have 4.10s but when u drive your car almost every day and on open roads, they arent practical. I would like to swap in some 3.55's just for a little extra grunt, but i dont even know if i'd be worth it since im running the stock 3.08's now, not 2.73s like some SN's had.

3.55s is probably great for cruisen, i just put my 3.73s in 2days ago, and its amazing difference, before in 1st the tires wouldn't brake loose, just rev on out to 50mph ...now at any rpm in 1st i seem to just roast the tires instantly. launching is going to be more tricky but i know its gonna luanch harder. im sure 3.55s would make a great compromise.... kuz i already feel funny crusien on roads at 50-60mph area and breakin 2,000rpm in 5th

4.10's at 70mph with an AODE and stock tire size will run 2500rpm. Compared to 2000rpm that the stock 3.27's run. So I don't see how that isn't practical. That extra 500rpm isn't gonna make it unstreetable. I don't think I'd want 4.10's with a t5 but for the AODE I plan on 4.10's soon. The 3.27s suck...bad.

i sooo agree i want them bad i dont care about rpm's or oh my my gas milage? :notnice: who cares buy a dd if you really care lol

Who in here has 3.27's stock in their car? I was under the impression that we either had 2.73's or 3.08's. I've got a t-5 and im revving about 1700-1750 while cruising at 70mph, which is perfect, but it seems like it takes forever to get up to those speeds with stock gears.

This topic has been beat to death and back, but I will say that I disagree with you. I drive my car every single day, and the 4.10s are perfect. At 70mph, i'm at 24-25k rpms. My dad's sport trac and my wife's taurus, runs the same rpms at that speed. :nice:
