Wow, a whopping 3 posts from this nerd... but he's owned a stang for 3 years... BS I say.

Funny how I fail to see the relavence. Being a Mustang owner does not mean mandatory participation in Stangnet.

Funnier still, you bothered looking to see how many posts he had but didn't other to see that he was banned already.

Funniest yet, you clapping with one hand trying to egg someone on who cannot respond because he was banned.

You sure showed him!

Tylers65, I'm started to get the impression that you're flexing your moderator's muscles....but I could be wrong!

Not really,

I was quite active when this forum started. I have been moderating it for over a year now. But My Mother got cancer in June and died in August and I have been dedicating most of my time to settling her affairs.

Now I have more time on my hands and so now all of you poor people have to suffer.

HA HA!!!!

Sorry to hear about your mother. I lost my mother in '97, so I know how hard it can be.

Personally, I'm glad you're taking a more active role in the forum. Sometimes things get a little out of control.

And, if I ever get out line, feel free to slap me down!

Don't worry, I never discriminate against who I slap around

Its kinda funny. I'm 40 years old, and have been around the Mustang game for quite a while (really came into it in 1985 when I bought my 1984 Anniversary car).

For every change of the Mustang, large and small, there have been the complainers. For every change, there have been those who think it has gone too far, and those who think it hasn't gone far enough. Carb to EFI was the end of modifying ability. 5.0 to 4.6 was the end of modifying ability. 4.6 had no power. 94 was too heavy. 87 was ugly. 94 was ugly. 99 was ugly. 2005 is ugly. Every change there wasn't enough power. Every change the car was too heavy. Every change meant the end of modifying ability.

Yet you know what........... most of the complainers bought the very car they complained about.

I think it boils down to the fact that we are resistant to change. To temper that resistance, many will complain about the change............. in any and every way........... to make us feel better about the fact that we don't like change. Eventually, we get used to the change, and then like it.

However, this is a good thing. It is nice that a car like the Mustang can elicite enough passion for people to want for more, less, or even just the same. It is part of being a Mustang enthusiast............ and part of what keeps the Mustang going.

On a side note. You will not see cars getting lighter. It just isn't going to happen unless exotic materials get real cheap. You have your federal government and the consumer themselves to thank for this. Tougher and tougher crash regulations, and emissions regulations mean more equipment............ whether it is side impact beams, airbags, or sensors. Consumers also keep demanding more and more equipment in their cars. Shaker 500's, power everything, and more room, all add weight. I don't expect this to change anytime in the future.

Anyway, just some of my useless drivle. Sorry so long, but I do find these trends over the years to be very interesting.

PS, I would really like an '05 Vert. I am accepting donations.

Blah, Blah, Blah..... Blah.

That's all this thread is.

I believe we should try and stop return posts to these types of threads as they are there only to inflame and insite.

I do not believe the original post, nor do I believe the original poster is old enough to drive. (Judging by the mentality level of his posts.)

There is no reason to knock the GTO because this dummy uses it as a weapon. It is merely a prop in his little home theatre he is running.

Quit being volunteer actors in his show..................

Don't get so hung up on the HP thing. It's all about performance.

Let's take a look at the Mustang GT's nearest competitor....the GTO.

In '05 guise, the GTO has 100 more HP over the Mustang GT. But, the performance numbers have the Mustang GT only 1/10th of a sec off the GTO for 0-60 and only 2/10s of a sec off in the 1/4. 100 more HP and performance is nearly identical to the Mustang GT. Oh yeah...the GTO also costs $4K more than the Mustang GT (all loaded up).

i had a 440 six pack , 70 roadrunner, anddddd

it had a 411 rear end, and never did i get my azz as you decribe it, handed to me by a 65 to 66 slightly modified mustang, of which i had two by the way..... know your facts before you spout off.
