302 overheats. incorrect water pump?

To fix the engine running to high temperatures I want to verify that I have a correct pump.

Is d7te-aa standard or reverse rotation?
E.g. on this picture, the propeler should be rotating clockwise or counterclockwise?

It look like an aluminum pump in the pic, I thought all aluminum pumps ran backwards and were for serpentine belts.

The part number points to a Mustang II-era application, before reverse rotation pumps were utilized. Also, did you install it like that, with an open back? Most FSB water pumps after '65 have a backing plate that covers the impeller. Early open-back pumps fit timing covers that are specific to those years, IIRC.

I was just asking what is the propeller's correct rotation, if it is like circular saw (teeths pointing to the direction of rotation) or opposite

Your photo is a reverse-rotation pump. You need to replace the pump and the timing cover to use with 65-73 Mustang standard rotation.

dude what I am asking is how do you know the one on the pic is reverse (ignore alluminium cover)

so if the one on the picture is reverse rotation it should spin clockwise (as you looking at the picture, or looking at it from driver's seat)

Sitting in the car, with the hood open so you can see the fan, the fan should turn counter-clockwise.

you still talking about the pump linked above?
if looking at it from driver seat and it turns counterclockwise it is then standard pump, not reverse
