Do you think so?

Stock 1986 long block, stock heads (high mileage)
GT-40 intake
Shorty headers
Converted to MAF (1993 computer)
Novi 1220 (I think it's 8psi, could be 6 - didn't WOT the car yet)
Power pipe

It should be fun anyway, but next winter I plan on rebuilding the engine, new heads and new tune. I want to see 400 rwhp. No real reason other than wanting the #400 :D I didn't do anything to the car nor do I plan to do so until next winter. My CFO won't allow engine mods yet, already spending a ton on interior restoration :)

I'm kind of hoping to up the boost to 12psi, not sure how far I can take it with the FMU though (again I won't risk this on the stock block)... It is a 5 speed... Sounds like I won't have too many issues getting to 400hp... :nice:

If you bolt on aluminum heads alone, I bet you will be very close. Toss in a cam, and 400 is a done deal. Ive read about several GT40P boosted cars hitting 400 on a stock HO cam. I know the '86 cam is not the same, but aluminum heads will flow better than 40P's so it has to be similar.

The 86 cam is considered an HO cam, and if anything it is actually slightly more aggressive than the later HO cams, oddly enough. Its just the heads, intake, and TB on the '86 that sucked, compared to the '87+ cars.
