I don't know exactly where to post this:
I was out looking at my '84 Bronco the other day, thinking how tragic it was to sell it just cause of cracked heads. That's when I noticed my friend's 91 LX. Then I got an Idea...
So I was wondering what all I would have to do to throw the 351 in a fox. Is a 351 too heavy for the stock fox body? Please help...

Yeah, I was thinking a four-eyed fox, so carbureted. My friend's got an '84 (?) with a 5 speed, and he's considering selling it to me for $100. By the way, Nice motor(that fuel rail is huge!)... Looks alot nicer than mine...for now hehehe

i was gonna carb it but,i like the fuel injection, its pretty easy to tune and i suck with carbs.lol. carbs do make for a cleaner engine compartment.

Fuel Injection definitely DOES have benefits, but I just love that old 4-barrel rumble. HOLY COW MY SMOKE DETECTOR JUST WENT OFF!!! Anyways, I guess that 408 probably rumbles enough, but I'm still on a High School Budget .But I do have a 460 sitting in our work truck...

It's not the carb that makes the engine rumble...you can get that with an EFI set up no problem, lol.

Anyway, check out the thread in my sig and I have progress pics of pretty well my whole 408 build/swap in to a 4 cylinder car. I highly recommend doing it.

408gt, very nice setup. I had (crying over selling) a 90 lx with a carbed 418, TFS"R" head headed ect............. Have you run your car at the track? Dynoed? Mine made 583/546 on the engine dyno. With a 5spd and a weight of 3300 with driver, on a short shifted shakedown pass with drag radials the car went 11.559@126.66mph. I was very happy with that. I put a C4 in it and never ran it again, would have hoped it might have touched in the 10's.

It was a custom hydro roller from comp, I believe it was 252/262@.05, 110 ls, .576/.576 lift. Went with the crane drop in like bar lifters, no valve float @6800, made peak @6500.

WOW way to derail this thread guys. The 351 should fit because its the same block as the 302, but i cant be too sure about how it will fit up to the transmission. But yet again if its the same block i think the tranny will hook right up.

mmmm yea, 302 block isnt the same block as a 351....

pretty much all the accessorys from the 302 will bolt to the 351 along with the tranny...so most of the 302 stuff WILL swap over to the 351 but they arnt the same blocks....

thought it was taller AND wider?
