73 GRANDE' WHICH HAD A 351 CLEVELAND, I WAS THINKING OF REPLACEING WITH A 429/460, IS THIS A GOOD OR BAD IDEA. IS THE 429 EASILY COMPATIBLE? IS THE C6 A GOOD TRANNY.

If you go from 351c to 460/429 you will need not be reusing the transmission from the cleveland or exhaust you have now because you will be moving from (to use a chevy term) a small block to a big block

I'm not sure about 71-3 but in 69-70 the suspension was moved forward for the CJ.

since the 429 was available in the 71-73 mustangs, the mounts are around which makes the swap easier. you will need a 429/460 specific transmission though as the bel housing is different from the 351c t the 429/460 blocks.

Like they said, the 385 series was an option for the big body Mustangs, so engine and transmission mounts are available. You will need a 351M/400/429/460-specific bellhousing and/or transmission. Yes the C6 is good, but it's heavy and sucks up a lot of power. Perhaps that is not much of a concern with a bigblock...

One more thing, TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK.

Had a 351C? Did you blow it up?

Those motors can make nasty, nasty power. Do some google searching on the CHI 3v heads.

I'd keep it and build it up.

Good luck...
