On the front of the cam where the timing gear and fuel pump eccentric go there is a pin that inserts thru these and into the cam. Is it normal for this pin to be able to go into the cam so deap that it does not enguage with the eccentric anymore? Should I just push the pin in untill it is flush and then put in the bolt? What holds in the pin or keeps it from slipping in further when the motor is running? Should the pin be longer? It is a comp cam camshaft.
Thank you
