got my 4.10 gears installed this morning, took 2 guys about 3 1/2 hrs. install went fairly smooth...

i pulled the car out onto the main highway and slowly accelerated. didnt feel any different at all. if someone had snuck them in i wouldnt have noticed any light throttle difference.

took it down the road making sure there was no noise...when i went to u-turn the downshift barked the tires :X
never done that before.

i havent really hammered into it yet, going to let them wear in a bit first. but i can definitely feel a good difference in pull. my diablo predator decided to take a dump and is not working at all so i cant calibrate it yet, however with the jerry mod and shift points i already had it shifts fine. holds the gears out a little longer than i'd like but nothing bad.

good choice on the gears, make sure you heat cycle it a few times before you get on it hard. I had mine done last week and I had accidentally barked the tires a few times going out of a turn, I was so used to driving with the 3:27's..

Make sure you dont take pictures holding the camera with both hands. have atleast one hand on the steering wheel for safety sake :D
I drive with my knees... :nice:

So I don't get too much greif...My drive home from work consists of about 35 miles of raised Interstate. Traffic is very minimal after midnight so only 3 things can happen. I lose control and hurt myself, a member of law enforcements reads this, figures out where I'm talking about and waits for me
or a meteor falls from the sky and hits me in the head.

ill see exactly what the top speed is...speedo is still off due to dead predator...i know one thing tho, i could scare the **** out of someone with this uncalibrated speedo. that % difference reaaaaally starts to show at ~100. it climbs like the tach in a first gear pull.

My tuner said that I dont have to worry about any kind of break-in period.
He said they drove it a couple times and that I was good to go!
I thought I heard a faint sign of gear whine, not sure though.
It pulls like a mofo now though :D The box says SVO on it.

Man that really limits you ALOT, only 153 MPH and at 5500!Thats hard on your engine LOL, I bet it takes a minute to move from 150 to 153 and at those RPMS I wouldnt do it...but thats me.I may keep 3.27s or most likely go with 3.55s so I can keep milage, top end(especially when modded) and gain a little performance.Really what you get right now (153 or so) is about all your going to get because if you go much higher you will blow you engine in no time.4.10s will be better for top speed on stock or near stock cars, and 3.73s are good for all types, except those pushing a TON of power, then 3.55s for those so they can get VERY high up there LOL.So it just depends on what you will be doing with the car..for me I really dont want to loose 1-3 highway miles per gallon with 4.10s...heck I already have my hotrod I dont need another one...just want to have it a little faster than stock. So bottom line if you want the best top speed out of a stock GT go with 4.10s, if you have a S/C or alot of boltons then go with 3.73s or 3.55s so you wont blow the engine trying to max it out at 6250 RPMs LOL.Anyone went from 3.27s to 3.55s, I would like to hear your take on it, has to at least be easier taking off.

I'm talking about at 5500 rpms, not 6000-6200rpms.

Why 5500? The rev limiter is at 6050... I believe theres enough HP to push it to close to that if not to it.

My car acts fine without the gear calibration.. speedo is way off of course bit it shifts fine. It shifts way too early actually at WOT. I would seem the shift pattern is going by MPH instead of RPM.

how much did the jerry mod cost you to do? also, where did u have it done at?? im thinking about getting it done here soon :)

I had a friend do it.. If you live resonably close to gadsden alabama i'm sure he would do it for you. I cant quote a price though.
