i just had 4.10's installed in my 02 gt vert and man what a difference. the thing pulls like a mutha. took t/a off and had superchip installed with 14 degree's timing and to calibrate for gears. had a chance to drive before the chip was installed and could definately tell a difference. had the car dyno'd before and after the chip. the chip only gained 1 rwhp, but 10 rwtq, i guess from the timing. anyways, 4.10's make a huge difference and anyone contemplating between 373's and 4.10's should go with the 4.10's.

I don't know, I have 4.10s, bassani catted x-pipe, C&L mass air meter system, superchips microtuner and borla stinger catback.

My buddy has 3.73s, CDC shaker kit, ported stock plenum, and spintech side exhaust and he can tear me up on the highway. He pulled two car lengths away from me but that's all he could do.

I don't know if that is the drawback of 4.10s as i don't think they pull very hard at all on the highway versus 3.73s.

What ya'll think? Anyone had the same experiences?

I think my 4.10s pull pretty hard on the highway.I guess if he pulled you 2 carlengths and then quit, you may have been going from a speed that was getting closer to his powerband while you were out of yours.Just a thought.

By the way I run 13.5 flat @100 mph. I have ran as high as 102 mph but I dint run as good a time.

My Mods.

underdrive pulleys
ram air kit
ported and polished plenum
70 mm throttle body
superchip
k/n
shorty headers
dr. gas x pipe
flowmasterfull exaust no cats

I have 3.73s on mine. I have two friends with same cars as mine except they have 4.10s. I beat them both at the track by a couple tenths. I think that 4.10s are just a little to much for a next to stock car that only pulls hard to about 5800 rpms.

Thanks bro for the info...Sorry didn't mean to be a thread hijacker.

I agree, my car doesnt pull nearly as hard on the highway as it did before the 4.10's. But from a stop I can take anyone... except maybe an sti or evo. The gas mileage isnt THAT bad, just go easy on the throttle and youll be fine. If your gettin blown then stick with the 3.73's... Everyday I come on stangnet theres a new thread about gears, LEARN HOW TO SEARCH!
