once school lets out i'm off to get some gears installed. however, i'm stuck between 3.73's and 4.10's. my plans for the future include everything from pulleys and a short shifter to a PI headswap and maybe even some nitrous. given all of this would 4.10's be too much and would 3.73's be my best bet. also i tend to do a good amount of freeway driving, but i do like to take my car to the track once in a while.

im in the same boat as you, i do a lot of freeway driving but... im still thinking that what everyone says about comign over to the world of 4.10's compared to 3.73's is so much more worth it.

4:10's will do the trick. I went 3.73's in my heavy @ss Cougar, but it will mostly be a daily cruiser and I've also got a 9psi Roots blower to make up the loss on the bottom end. If I was going to stay N/A, I would have opted for the 4.10's...and I still may if my 3.73's don't get here soon! :bang:

I chose the 3.73s and prolly would have done the 4.10s if I wasnt going to drive this thing everyday to school next year. Ill prolly still want them as they will prolly take me out of the drone rpm on the interstate, but hopefully the 3.73's wont be too bad when I get them put in next week. MMM MMM new gears....

Spreadman's sticky at the top of the 4.6 Tech forum should answer ALL your 4.10 questions...watch the videos and appreciate the work he has done for all of us...he's convinced me to get 4.10s even though I'll be getting blown eventually...4.10s plus KB 9PSi intercooled = :nice: :nice: :nice:

Don't fear the gear. Go to modular depot (I don't mean to trump Stangnet) and read the three articles about Acceleration. They are technichal and informative and will answer your questions.
