Will the 4.6 Mass air meter ELECTRONICALLY function on a A9L computer? I know it has the four bolt pattern, but I have available a 4.6 Mass with/air filter/cone etc. I will be using the stock 19# injectors for this project.

Thanks in advance!

The connectors will be different. You can buy the adapter cable, but you will need a tuner to correct the calibration.

FWIW, I'm using a Pro-M 3.5" univer with my A9M that was originally calibrated for a 96 Cobra. I'm using a TwEECer for the calibration.

Use a 70 MM MAF from a 94-95 Mustang, V6 or V8. Both V6 & V8 use the same MAF. They are a perfect match pin wise and calibration wise for the A9L or A9P computer used in 89-93 5.0 Mustangs.

Once again thanks for the info. I got to looking at diagrams for the 97-up mass air on the 4.6's ( I believe 72 MM), looks as though I can use one of these and only have to repin for the IAT sensor. Not too difficult!

One other question concerning this-
We are just finishing up swapping an e-cammed explorer longblock into a v6 SN-95. We used the stock 95 v6 mass air system with the integrated mass air/conical filter system. It runs and seems to work fine so far, but we are using the stock explorer ecu to operate everything on the car, NOT the A9L. My question is, am I looking for an integrated mass air system similar to the one I used for the explorer swap or an in-line system the a9l uses? I would like to use the inline system just for looks/cleaner bay.

The 97 MAF will not work.
Only the 94-95 MAF will work...
It isn't a wiring issue.
The problem is that the output of the sensor will be different from what the computer is expecting.

I don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Can you elaborate on how an A9L system is 'in-line'
and an explorer system is 'integrated' ???
