My thoughts also. Do the guys that shorten and balance the drive shaft need the yoke installed?

It's been quite a while, but what I did, iirc, was insert the yoke as far as it would go into the transmission (while still attached to the drive shaft...) and measured what it would take to be able to fit the caps into the rear axle yoke. Once that measurement is taken you can tell the shop how much you need it shortened. They're gonna go from the 2 ends to measure the shaft anyway, so it doesn't necessarily have to be assembled when it goes to them, but they'll want it so they can rebalance the assembly. They should throw new U joints in it as well, but I suppose that depends on the shop and how they roll.

I concur. My instructions from the transmission says you leave 3/4" showing on the shaft of the yoke to allow for the slippage of the drive shaft when the rear end goes over a bump.
Thank you.

@2Blue2 here is what I got today. 46 degrees, cloudy and windy so it was a good day to be at the salvage yard. The clutch tube is...used...as they all are. I didn't realize they were plastic. Other than the teeth being worn, it has a small crack in the tube. Still way better than the one I was using. The seat belt covers are in pretty good shape. Blue with some carpet glue junk that could be cleaned off. Let me know if you're interested. If not, no big deal.
No letters, sorry.

I take it back. Something happened...the Camaro moved back in front of me. I'm thinking the snow will be flying by the time I get it back.

Well, at least it's a 1st gen Camaro. If it were anything newer than around 73 or 74 I'd probably lose my cookies.

The final prime went on this morning. Now it sits while a Camaro get painted. I'll be next in line. Probably two weeks till they start painting my car.

That’s a good solution to the gap normally left when lowering a bumper. It looks much better than the normal car on a small truck chassis after too much beer swap.
Now what is the subject of this thread?

Here is a question for the Mustang II crew. Do you dress in period appropriate clothing for car shows, with bell bottoms and that scarf or the gold chain and open shirt 70’s Corvette owner look?
Nah, I usually do the greaser look, jeans, cowboy boots, t-shirt, hair slicked back... but that's also how I dress just about any other day that I'm not going to work or riding my bike. I fit in more with the kustom crowd, but I can't afford to play in their playground.

I already wear jeans and polos, so I’m ready if I need to dress period appropriately for a Fox body at a show.

You need the polos with the little alligator on the chest, and a "Members Only" jacket too.

I spent years dressing up for work. Scrubs, 3 Piece suits for a while, ill fitting Cintas. I was always replacing items because I cannot stay clean. Always end up with dirt or grease on something.

Now that I am "retired" I am in stained coveralls and a t shirt when it's cooler or a stained t shirt and khakis when it's warmer. Garage, store, car show. Don't matter. I am gonna be comfortable and the firehose overalls with built in knee pads are the best thing since combustion engines were invented. I may even be buried in them. That damn comfortable and durable. Ohh. Did I mention built in knee pads. Yeah. Never knew it was a thing until a couple years ago. Now I cannot believe I lived almost 50 years without knowing the joy of them.
