gotta question... i'm rebuilding an 89 5.0 h.o.... converting to a 600cfm carb( i hate efi sorry)... i purchased a camshaft from someone (compcams 31-234-3) and after tearing the engine down and noticed that the factory cams firing order is very different from the new cam that i was going to install.... can i still use this cam even though the firing order is different or is the crank different in the 89 h.o. from the older model 302's?.....hhhhheeeeeeeelllllllpppppppp....!

you can use it still but need to run the new cam's firing order. Personally I would get another H.O. cam because that firing order actually makes more HP then the standard firing order. It has to do with heat in the cylinders and the H.O. firing order as well as the 351w are the better firing order. This firing order is the same as chevy went to for there LS motors if you were to number there cylinders the same as ford.
