:worship: I went to a local car show this morning. And was very unpleased with the turnout of stang owners. But just as i was about to leave. I noticed a yellow weird ass looking miata. So i went over and talked to the guy. And there she was sitting under the hood of this friggin go kart sized car was a 5.0. Now im all about power/going fast and pissing off the cops. But DAMN thats a bit much. The guy wouldnt admit how much moeny he had into it. But from the look on his wifes face. It was probably about the budget of a third world country. He did tell me he had more time and custom fabrication into it than one would really think as acceptable. But in the end i think it was worth it. Anyone else ever run into a crazy guy with a car like this before?

Ive heard of the 5.0 Volvo thing. Sounds like a nice grocery getter. And good for getting the kids to school on time when your running late! Never seen one though. The miata must getting terrible traction?

Had a Chrysler aluminim block 215 V-8 in my MG/GT in high school. And a friend of mine put the entire running gear out of a toranado (FWD, 455 ci.) in the back of his corvair.. It was quite scary...

Theres just something about High horespower engines in little cars that scares me. Maybe it was the whole traumatizing trip i took on a go kart with a 700cc liquid cooled sled engine on it. I almost shat myself

There was some guy running around my town with a 350 stuffed into a chevette. Don't know how he did it, or why. Guess he just wanted to scare the hell out of himself.

I was cruising on the Sawgrass Expwy and was hearing another mustang droning with me but saw nothing behind me. At the toll there was a Miata that had been in front of me and when he pulled out it sounded like a Beast! I talked to him and he had a buddy with the Rx7 TT motor in it and said it was running 11's at will. They weigh around 2800 lbs and they do go very fast! Yes Monster Miata is what they are called and since Ford owns Mazda it's not a bad combo.

I saw a S-10 with a 455 and blower on it about 12 years ago. He could just bump the pedal and the front wheels would come off the ground.

No, it's not.

I don't think it's that expensive of a swap to do, they make kits for it.

Anywho, have you guys forgotten about the 427 side oilers installed in the miata sized AC cobras?

Very true! Who Could forget about the 427 cobra Ah one day i will own one of those!!!!!

But the cobra was designed around that engine. Thanks to Mr. Carol Shelby. Whoever designed the miata probably didnt have the same thing in mind

Actually the Cobra was designed for a 4 cyl and was built by AC cars in England. The Cobra was based on the AC Ace. Shelby brought the bodies in from England and installed the V8 and toploader. The later 427's where more heavily modified than the earlier 260/289 cars due to the extra weight of the FE motors. All late production Cobras are actually the 428 CJ engine instead of the 427, due to the extra machining cost of cross bolting mains and so on.
