A few months ago I saw a 1st gen rx-7 with a stock 302 in it. That was crazy to see. Too bad it had a 7.5" rear end.

I did the same thing. I am like, I hear a mustang, but no mustang was in sight.

Evidently, a company makes custom motor mounts just for this particular swap.

The owner of Summit Technologies in Mass challenged my uncle to a race in his Triumph TR6 versus my uncle's heavily modded 01 GT. My uncle got absolutely destroyed. His boss pops the hood and there is a chevy small block 350 shoe horned in there. That's gotta be quick.

some of the british cars are a hoot. remember the Triumph Stags? Sunbeam Tigers? those cars were pretty light and came with iron motors - an alum V8 can actually DECREASE the motor weight - so weight distribution is not affected. do some driveline increases and you got quite a little racer.

Ls1/lt1's swap well into rx7's and so do the 5.0's. As far as the miata goes, I have found that only the 5.0 is small enough to fit. I dunno of anyone that has yet stuffed a chevy motor into a miata (the blocks are too big). Oh and if you guys are interested there are companies online that sell kits to swap 5.0's into miatas, there about 4 grand (does not include motor and tranny). But hey I hear they run low 12's to high 11's on those tiny tires wioth a stock 5.0. Imagine putting a stroker in there and getting some traction. It would be sweet.....

Actually a really popular swap for the Fieros are a Northstar V8, fits pretty tight but that would be some major juice. Very popular base for the kit cars. I almost went that way but its still a Fiero underneath.

The good old "Monster Miata's" have been around now for about 10+years. It's actually a very popular swap. Between my Father and myself. We've built and owned….

about half a dozen 5.0L/5.8L Rangers and Bronco II’s, Both EFI and Carbed.

Also dropped….
a 350's in S-10's 2WD,
a 350 in a 4X4 Blazers,
a 5.0L HO into a Jeep Cherokee,
….and lastly
A 350 in a Fiero!

Fabbing parts is a pile of fun.

Whenever i see a Mustang motor in a random car, its still just a wolf in sheeps clothing to me. When they drop in an 03 Cobra motor into a Focus, you have a Mustang in the shape of an egg.

The original Monster Miatas were manufactured by a company that is now out of business. That company sold it's design to the company you can now buy the kits from. I have the name of the original company at home. They made two versions - a stock 5.0 and a supercharged 5.0 version.

Why try to sell a Mita as a Cobra? - DUMB!

If you want a Cobra kit, buy a Cobra kit - I think the Cobra kit looks better too.
