well i bought a 93 mustang lx hatch today with a great interior and besides needing a front cap its in great condition, down fall its a 4 cyl auto so as of tomorrow im starting the swap, iv got the motor trans pedals spindles rotors correct gauge pod. and the help of a friend that has done it a few times but i do have one thing im not sure of..... will a 87 motor harness work for the swap.... here are some pics of the car ohh and by the way it was only 200 for it

87 harness will work. YOu just won't have Mass air, unless your old car was converted before, but if the motor is gonna stay realtively stock, speed density does seem to make a few more HP.

Nice buy BTW, good luck with the swap!

iv got a maf and the pigtails, and direction so if i can find the correct ecu it will be mass air. so ur certain the 2 ends on the motor harness will plug into the main harness and the green plug in the kickpanel will plug into the dash harness

ttt still need to make sure the harness is gonna work guy from a 87 to a 93 cyl because it looks like there are diff connections

actually don't quote me on this, but the 4 cyl has a completely different harness, you will prob need to swap all of your old wiring to it.

eww thats scary i just got done doing it on the vert so ur telling me i gotta take it all out of the vert and put it all in. if so thats gonna be a pain and cause problems

dont have the money currently for that and have a feeling i would still have problems with other electrical items do u know what happened to the thread a couple years ago were the guy did a whole swap with pics and all

here is what i got done old harness out new one in motor pulled 140 speedo and the correct tach on went ahead and threw a set of white face on i got the wires under the hood that were damaged by the minor fire the car had due to its previous owner fixed also found out i have to replace the rack an pinion due to the fire melting the seal on the drivers side and a friend wanted to help so he swapped my tails and went ahead and put the radio filler in, also started polishing my intake

Id be more concerned about replacing the windshield and doing the body work before I started polishing the intake. JMO

its just one of those things i work on the motor for a couple hours and while im resting smoking me a sig i find something else to do and i have a new windshiel hood and one fender right now still gotta get the other fender and bumper

looks all too famliliar. From what I remember is the under dash wiring won't work from a 87-93. Don't remember why though. All my stuff was from a 89gt into my 88lx. good luck with everything. I got it done in about 3 days with a buddy of mine. (only because HOA didn't like a parted gt in the front driveway)

yeah there are a few wiring issues that i got somebody who has done it before gonna help me with and the lx tails were all cracked and busted other wise i would have left them in

ok pics of the engine bay a lil cleaned up the radiator support bent back into place and the rack and pinion about to come out tomorrow i plan on sanding and cleaning the bay a lil more so i can give it a fresh coat also i went and picked up my clutch/ brake assembly gonna try to get it in tomorrow also took the front bumper off probaly gonna go get fender and new one on friday

here are some pics of a lil of the work u cant tell much has changed but it has been a lil sluggish the last couple of days
