500 rwhp on a stock sn95 302?

At what Hp do you think i would need to reach this? I have 2 hairdryers straped to it now.. I'm thing maybe some 185's AFR's, trickflow box intake, and Cam.. then turn up the boost.. not going to stomp on it everyday but you know I can't have a neon beat me..
 
Chris is right, its not the boost levels per say that kill the bottom ends, mainly its detonation due to a poor tune.

I'm a little confused with the question though. Do you want to know what fly wheel HP is required for 500rwhp?
 
yes killer thats a start.. to make about 500 to the rear wheels how much do I have to make at the flywheel. Plus I have a AODE so I lose about 20% in the drivetrain.

I know my block is a ticking time bomb.. but it's not like I will be driving the thing at WOT everytime I run to the market.. So the block should last a minute or two..

Right now I'm thinking about 400 to 450 would be safe.

But the original question is " Can I do that with an OEM engine?"

well... 20% loss through drivetrain means you need to make 625 HP to equal 500 out back.

You can do it, once.

Then you'll be shopping for a dart block and a forged rotating assembly.

So... where are the hairdryers? Is that a blow through MAF?

Id love to see a pic of them mounted because they are almost invisible right now. Im curious how you wedged em in.
 
with a TT setup such as yours, the stock engine could probably put down 600bhp...

I imagine you'd get to 500RWHP with that

No need to change HCI - save maybe a GT40/performer intake

don't blow anything up.

and don't even attempt to go that high without a dyno tune.
 
well I looked at your setup and even though your using 2 of these Turbo's

I dont see you hitting the 500 rwhp mark with your current setup and these small turbo's. Possible? yes, but you will be running some race gas and taking the boost level way up and out of the effeciancy range of these turbo's. Click on the compressor map above. Heads, intake, and cam play a major role as well. The easier the air flow the better.

With what I see on your build up log, I would be leaning towards 12 PSI @ about 400 rwhp +/- a few. maybe less with the AODE

I really think the Turbo's are to small for what you want to do. But anything is possible.

Turbosnake you are the man... One day i will figure out how to read that darn compressor map and be golden. Well i will let you guys know how it performs. Just had to send the pax turbo back cause I blew a seal. The Blasst guys are great and so excited about my project they are doing stuff at cost..

They are like the HP Performance set-up. Right in front of the tires. wanted it that way so if you looked at the car you would only think CAI. So i reused the CAI.
 
Ok, so since we are on the subject, what is the limit? Will I be safe at 400RWHP? I am running ARP rod bolts and stock block bored to a 306. Thanks.

BTW, peeps are running 331's and 347's stroked with probably over 400rwhp so should be right?

I dont see why you wouldn't be safe, 400 rwhp shouldn't be an issue with a Turbo on your setup.

But as far as the 331/347 issue, I would never compare NA power setups to forced induction power setup's, they are diffrent animal's IMO.
