I have AFR 165's coming, and a Trick Flow #1 cam I've been running the last year. I have to buy some stud mount rockers and was considering buying some 1.7 ratios. The total lift would come int at .530" intake/.542" exhaust. The springs are good for .550" so I'm good there, so here's some questions.
1. As the title asks, do you think I'll have any P/V clearance problems?
2. I plan on shifting around 5600-5800, would 1.7's increase valve float problems?
3. Are 1.7 rockers harder on valve guides?
4. Would these heads even benefit from extra lift beyond .500"?
I'm not too worried about valve float, my springs set up on my stock heads were only 100 lbs. and I shifted all day at 5500-5600 without valve float. I stuck with the standard package on the AFR's at 120 lbs.
EDIT: The pistons are forged Speed Pro's w/stock valve reliefs.
