If your motor is pretty much stock i would go with an aluminum edelbrock 4barrel intake and a holley 600 carb.

intake-$200 - carb- $300 -- all new. then you'll need gaskets

Try summit or jegs catalogs

Is the rest of the motor stock? If so, you will only see modest improvements from the carb and intake. You would need to improve the heads and cam to get that extra fuel into the combustion chamber and improve the exhaust to get it out. This is definitely a case where the you only get the true benefits of all the components when the system is balanced.
If I were you, as soon as I got the carb and intake installed, I would start saving for headers, cross-over pipe, dual exhust and low restriction mufflers. Then start saving for heads (rework or new?) and a cam.
Before I would start any of this I would run a compression test to ensure the motor is going to hold up to the mods.
