hi i ask you a question for a frien of mine

he jsut bought a 68 convertible , we have some question :

what is the 910232 DSO code ?

what were the option : touch-up paint and accessory packaging this information come from the marty report

thanks

best regards

The 910232 DSO code indicates a special order car. Most special orders were for a non-Mustang paint color.

The DSO indicates that this was the 232nd special order car for DSO 91 (91-0232).

The touch up paint reference on the Marti report probably indicates that this car was special ordered for the paint color.

The only way to determine the original paint color is to look for traces of it.

DSO 91 means it was a car for export. The 0232 does not always mean it was special order 232 for that district office as all Golden Nuggets have 1111 after the DSO. Do you have all the numbers in order from the cars' warranty plate on the door. Mine for example is 65A Y5 2A 2A 74 1111 2 W. All this broken down means in order, 2 door coupe bucket seats, Y5 means it's paint was sunlit gold with satin black accents. 2A for black vinyl interior and 2A for 2nd of January 68. 74 is the district office for Seattle while 1111 indicates that it is a speacial dealer option, which is the Gold Nugget Edition. the 2 and the w reffer to the differential and the trans. More information is avaliable at http://www.geocities.com/mustangs68.geo/index.html
I would be interested in the information if you felt like posting it.

hi i've been on this web links yesterday !

it seems the car might be a color of the month one's : she've been built in juanary and my mates found some gold color on the car under the current color

data plate gives :

Serial number 8t03j145853
8 1968
t built at metuchen
03 mustang convertible
j 302-4v
45.853rd ford vehicule scheduled for production at metuchen
76b mustang convertible
m wimbledon white paint, ford #1619-a
6d red decor bucket seats
08a scheduled for build: january 8 ,1968
910232 export ordering district under special order
#0232
e 3.00 equa-lok axle ratio
5 four speed wide ratio manual transmission

on this web site , they told all color of the month were M code color car's

what do you think of that ?

As far as I know the Special Month paints were only options from Denver in the US but I am not 100 percent sure. The dealer code of 0232 could be a special paint/interior order like mine. I would suggest your friend look up Ford international's number and call them with all the infor such as VIN and Warranty Plate numbers. Ford is actually looking up information on my car for me and they might be able to do the same for him. Keep me updated and post pics if you can, would love to see it.

ok here is pics and his VIN

he is very please from your interest in his car , but he can't answer , he doesn't speak english very well ..... you can see that my english is from being perfect too

SOMEONE WITH 68 302 casting numbers ?

Thansk for keeping me in the loop. That is going to be a beautiful car when he is finished. I have always had a special place for the mustangs that were exported for some reason, not sure why. I am not sure about the castings, if I get time over the next few days I will see what I can find. I am going sailing for 5 days so it might be a while until I get back to you. Thanks again for the pictures.
