'68 Rear Drum Problem

Ok, so I've got everything on the rear shoes rebuilt and installed correctly, at least I think so. New shoes, cylinders, hardware, parking brake cable, & drums re-surfaced. But I can't get the drum to slide over the shoes. I have the adjuster all the way in (no threads showing), parking brake is not engaged, and still have yet to bleed the rear brakes yet. I checked to make sure I have the right shoes, 10"x1 3/4", the drums are 10"x1 3/4". The only way I can get the drums to fit is if I remove the adjuster completely.

So what did I do wrong

How about a photo, with the drum off?

Hand over the doofus. I had the adjuster nut to low on the shoes. Moved it up where it's supposed to go and walla.....
