I have a 1969 with a 429 CJS coupe that i had the fortune of getting my hands onto only problem is it needs a fuel pump the gas tank cleaned out because I am pretty sure that it is all jellied up. And the Carb more then likely needs some attention because it has been sitting for the last 8 years. The Carb is a motorcraft I am pretty sure it is original but not positive. Does anyone have some information or knowledge that can help me do this I also would like To know what I need to parts wise to get this done. Thanks

Well, the "Motorcraft" first appeared in 1972, when Ford sold Autolite™.
Of course, swapping a 429 into a 69 is no big deal. And clearing up the bad fuel, no matter what engine it is, is a matter of pumping or drawing the old fuel out, and pumping new fuel in. 8 year old fuel could darn near put a fire out, so replacing it is critical. Don't even try to run this thing with even a drop of the old fuel still in it.

I'm positive it has a 429 in it now where it came from that is good question I have heard rumors that Ford made special order drag packs which came with the 429 and beefed up drive train to match for that year. I have not run the vin on the car yet so I am not sure what it is supposed to have. or if it has been swapped out.
As for the Carb I'm not positive it is a Motorcraft that was strictly from memory and its been a month or so since I have looked at it

Disconnect fuel line after fuel pump, turn it over and push the pedal. Drain nasty fuel into bucket. Fill with clean gas. Victory.
Yeah, an old electric fuel pump works perfectly for this, either to pull the fuel out through the line from the tank or to push it through the mechanical pump into the carb.
The only 429 Mustang in 69-70 was the BOSS 429, with the NASCAR engine. These cars were structurally modified to accept the engine, and were sportsroof bodies.
Now, a coupe could certainly have had a 428CJ, or even a 428SCJ, and in mid 69 the cars with 3.91 or 4.30 rear axles had such things as beefed-up block assemblies and oil coolers, which became known as the Drag Pac.
Just give us the first 5 digits of the VIN and we'll know what's going on here.

i would also suggest rebuilding the carb or at least taking it apart to make sure there isn't any crap in there along with flushing the lines.

alright i'll post some pictures tomorrow when I have some day light. Where on the engine can I get the casting a good shot of the casting numbers or vin? It looks exactly like the picture posted except for the sidfe mirrors.
Casting numbers are not critical. Well-lit sharp focus photos showing the intake, heads, and water pump would do the trick, especially with the air cleaner removed. Write down any casting codes you can find, though.
We also need the first 5 digits of the VIN. There's no way to evaluate the car without them, period.
No, that's the warranty tag, not the legal VIN, and if the door is replaced, likely it's the wrong one. The legal VIN is visible through the windshield at the front edge of the dash.
That's the 385 Series 429/460 ThunderJet V8 engine, which had a long service life, 68-94. Don't bother looking for a VIN on the engine, if you find it at all it won't be for your car. Nice conversion, though. The only 385 Series ever used in the Mustang was the 71 429CJ and 429SCJ. Look through the windshield at the dash for the VIN. It would be interesting to know what the original engine was.
