Lately ive been real busy and have seemed to get tons done but also feel like nothing is getting done. Managed to get all of the wheel studs upgraded to arp and also added drilled and slotted rotors and some ebc pads. I got a killer deal on a JLT oil seperator. The guy i purchased it from gave me a brand new JLT cai which is about $300 new and a used unmarried SCT X4 tuner with 5 unlocks left which is about $400 new all of that for $60 best deal ever not sure i can use the tuner and i already had a steeda cold air but i couldint say no. Ill find a use for it sooner or later. Also tried to get car ready to start and had a bad fuel leak so have to redo the an lines because one was pinched.

Also wondering what everyone thinks about my headlight vents i made up. I figured why not because one of the 4 eye headlights dont work the way i want because my car is a 89. And it will get the extra air to the intake i need.

I like your "dual" intake you have going on...you may need a hole in the hood as it sticks up a little high.

I think the mesh over two headlights will look right at home on your car. You have that means business look going on.

Finally got the car to run!!! And it ran pretty good for open headers. Now i just need to clean up some wires move some fuel lines bleed the brakes and get some hoses and a expansion tank and she will just about ready to drive. Now just waiting on my maier racing flares install 03 cobra front lower and paint and also finish up my trunk mod. Will post pics later and maybe a short vid of it running.

Got a lot more work done car is on the ground and can drive under its own power. Need to bleed the brakes again finish up my front bumper and some other small body mods. Finally received my flares from chicane23 not really sure how happy i am with the fitment or quality especially for the $850 i spend for them but once they are painted and i finish installing im sure i will be happy with it. Enough talk here is some pics.

That's going to look badass.

Is that essentially the color you're going with on the whole car? Is it a flat, olive green? I like the color too.

It almost looks like you have the right quarter flare on the left side with the way the upper body line isn't matching up.

I think it'll look btchin' though, all done.

I wish that was the case Dave. they only make 2 panels for the front fender s but they sell a full set because you can mod them to fit. i found this out after i ordered. the shape of the rocker panel lines it with the bottom bottom of the flare from what is seen from other people is they sand the line down. There is a video from the smoking tire and you can see they had the same issues. Im not very happy with that at all but it will be okay no turning back now as i already chopped my front fenders and rear quarters I will try and post more pics of the fitment. Also the finish on them could be better. they do need a bit of sanding and filling i would build my own next time around. But there shouldint be a next time

Any fiberglass or plastic aftermarket parts I've worked on always needed from a little to A LOT of work to make them nice.

You mentioned Meiers flares before. What made you choose these?

I've never really purchased fiberglass parts before besides my hood which needed no work whatsoever. A friend of mine at the time couldn't believe the quality of it.I guess these could be worse there could be major work involved but there is not im just going to sand them smooth fill in small stuff and paint. Im not looking for perfection because the car will get driven frequently and inevitably end up in parking lots. And i ended up simply liking the looks of these better than the Meier flares i also considered the ssworxs metal flares but went back to these. My wife also chose these over the Meier flares. In the end ill be happy once these are painted and riveted on.

If you rivet those flares on, I think you should paint them body color as opposed to flat black. Otherwise, they will stand out exactly like they're doing now, grey against green.
In the end, my opinion isn't what matters, so take it with a grain of salt, but when you post pics, you invite commentary.

If I was doing it, ( and the day will come when big, fat, tires sit on all four corners of my car) ...And since you've now cut the fenders and quarters, and can't go back... I'd glue those flares on with PBA. Riveted-on Fiberglass on a street driven car is gonna crack eventually. And they'd be painted the exact same color as the body. As huge as they are, painting them a contrasting color will just point out that they don't belong there.
Conversely, if you try and make them part of the car by painting them the same color, and depending on how good you get them to fit, I think it'll look really good.

P.s. I didn't know they made high heat caliper paint in that color.

I too think PBA and blending with mud is the way to go on them, also keep them body color.

Thanks for the advice Mike i was considering gluing them on and may still do that. And for now i will probabably paint them black only because i have to spray the trunk so while im at it these will get done. Sooner or later the car will end up with a new color or will be wrapped we will see where time takes it.
