Build Thread 84ttop: I Suck At Updating This Thread...

It's not too often that I'm totally ignorant when it comes to things.... That is not the case right now. I was absolutely oblivious as to the cost of good quality LED shop lights. I can't work in the dark... I am not a cave man... I need good lights. I'm also conservative when it comes to paying utility bills. So I say to my lighting guy, I want it bright in there but don't want to spend a fortune to keep the lights on. He comes back with these high output 84 LED light panels that measure roughly 2'x2'. 14 in total will get the job done so they say and he all but said it will look like a surgical center in there. The only issue was the cost... I did not budget on spending 3200$s on stinking lights. What's even less overwhelming is how small the fixtures look now that they are here... Talk about anti climatic, at least until I get the chance to flip the switch anyway.

They are pretty high quality and have fairly high end LED drivers... we shall see how bright they are in the shop!

In other news, my electric service cable showed up today. That is a project for next week.

I will be interested in how well they do. LED's can really be a great upgrade but they have to be good quality. I'm sure your going to love them.

Just replaced kitchen can lights to LED can's, wow, what a difference, put a dimmer on them and boy do I need it! And these are soft white!

I just replaced 4 t12 fluorescent shop lights with 2 led versions the same size, night and day difference. Also put a pair of 75w equivalent led bulbs in my gdo while I was there. Can actually see in the garage now. You'll like the outcome.

Thanks guys!
The lights in total draw 1,800 watts actual so I'm hoping they are as good as everyone says! Should be 2 weeks before they are up. I'm dreading putting the ceiling in...

So I've patiently waited to bring up the subject of the Sn car, what with your hanger build and racing, holidays etc. but we are well into a new year and I have a guess-

Pro Mod-esque Sn95 car?
Did I figure it out?
Lol
:D

25.3 SN95 is slated to be started in February, hoping for a 2017 season debut with the new car. The drive train from my 84 will be transplanted and I have some options for the new 84 drive train after this race season.

"New" build thread then?:)
As soon as I get the shop done and start on the build I will have a new thread going. I've got some big plans for the new car. I have quite a few things that I've learned these past few years and some major improvements that will be made to the new chassis. I think the engine combo will work well in Ultrastreet and we will continue to further thst program this season starting at Lights Out 7 this February

The cat being out of the bag now I am more then excited for the new car but better yet lights out should be off the hook !

Sent from my iPhone using my fingers while my auto correct makes me seem illiterate

Hopefully my constant pestering about an Sn car didn't annoy you into letting the cat out of the bag. But seriously that's awesome. Can't wait for the build to begin

costco had some really nice 4' led lights for $40 bucks each a while back, they look similar to a fluorescent light and work great, if anyone is in the market. I put up 8 on my garage ceiling.

I just saw them this last weekend at Costco for $34 each. A guy I saw loaded about 20 of them in his cart. I might have to go back and get me several of them for my garage before their gone. I only have two 4' lights and it's not cutting it at all.
